Way back in February it was voted by the Telltale public that Sam and Max would be their second franchise, after Tales of Monkey Island, to be ported over to the Mac platform.
All five episodes of season two are now available to download from Telltale’s site. It’s free if you own the PC version already, so you can get right on to downloading from your games page. If you’re a new customer it’ll cost you $29.95 (for both PC and Mac) from the store. You can save 50% on that price if you pick up Telltale’s new ‘Puzzle Agent‘ game in the same order.
Phew! Oh, a congratulations also goes out to Tibault Damman. His name was randomly drawn from the poll voters, giving him the honour of having his name in the credits of the Mac version.

The media train is in full force for The Devil’s Playhouse, with gameplay footage appearing on Gamespot. The four videos all show gameplay footage from the beginning of the game, one with an interview with Telltale’s Will Armstrong on top. Over on Giant Bomb, they have posted a “Quick Look EX” a thirty minute walkthrough of the game’s opening (an early build) by Armstrong and Chuck Jordan. If you haven’t realised, there’ll be spoilers.
Along with the screenshots previously released, there are also four new pieces of concept art show characters Sal and Papierwaite, and a museum and lab location. These, along with the trailer, can be viewed on our page for The Devil’s Playhouse.
With all this new media out there, it’s a perfect opportunity to kit out your computer with some great wallpapers. So head over to our downloads page to bring your desktop to life with high resolution backgrounds.
Finally, the A.V. Club conducted an interview with Steve Purcell to talk games. Speaking of interviews, we’ve got one coming up with Steve too. Go here to ask your question to him – closing this Monday.

The following link and article contains minor plot spoilers. Look away if you’re overly sensitive.
IGN have posted up an article on their site with a first look at the new season of Sam & Max from the GDC 2010 show floor. The series will be simultaneously launching for the PC, Mac and PS3 on April 15. According to the article, the episode opens with Sam & Max being held captive by General Skunkap and having to make use of a disembodied alien brain to escape. We will be guided through the story by a Rod Serling-style narrator who will appear now and again to intersperse narration. There’s less emphasis on inventory use this time round, and instead “Max now has psychic powers like telepathy and the ability to transform into inanimate objects”. The article also mentions Sam having a notebook which contains references about returning characters and mission objectives, presumably for players who are new to the franchise.
With five episodes in total, the season will be sold at $29.99 for the full set, with PlayStation 3 owners being able to pre-order from the console’s download service. If you order through the Telltale site for PC and Mac, you’ll gain access to an exclusive board on the forums to chat with developers. Keep your eyes on the site, more details can be expected in the very near future.

Telltale pulled a surprise announcement recently by revealing they are releasing most of their back catalogue of games on the Mac, a computer for people who despise spreadsheets and love polo necks. Tales of Monkey Island was the first series to be Mac-ed, and is available free to those who already purchased the PC version.
To decide which of their series they bring to the Apple platform next, Telltale are inviting you to vote over on their official page. The games up for voting are Sam & Max, Strong Bad and Wallace & Gromit, with the winner announced on February 21. As well as this, one lucky voter will get their name in the chosen Mac title credits.
So get out there and vote! Print some posters! Rally your friends!
