The name Steve Purcell should ring a bell. As the award-winning creator of the Sam & Max series, Steve first brought the pair to life through his comics, later releasing them into the world of video games and television. It’s my very great pleasure that Steve has agreed to answer some of your questions in an interview for the site.
Leave your question in the comments below, and if it’s good enough then it’ll be asked to the man himself. It’s one per user, so make it count. Obviously make your questions appropriate, but be imaginative – do you really want to know what Steve’s favourite cereal is? Maybe you do, but there’s probably something more interesting you could ask.

As previously promised, Pixar have put up a video of Steve Purcell, the co-director of their upcoming flick Brave, answering questions posed to him by the interviewer and Twitter users.
The video is embedded below and is worth a watch for those wanting to learn more about Steve’s experiences making the film and the official video game.

Steve Purcell is currently present at this year’s Electronic Expo, the biggest gaming convention. Pixar’s official Twitter sent out the following tweet, asking you to send in your questions to him using the hashtag ‘BraveE3′. A lucky selection will be answered via video response later this week, apparently.
It’s also worth noting that Steve Purcell has been officially confirmed as the co-director on Pixar’s upcoming flick Brave, having previously done some work on Cars and Ratatouille.
We’ll update you when Steve’s video responses are posted.

This past Sunday saw Steve Purcell attend Comic-Con 2011, as he does every year. Telltale have been putting up daily video highlights and embedded below is ‘day five‘, showing Steve signing and chatting (along with Jake Rodkin being creepy, but let’s pretend that never happened).

The 2011 San Diego Comic Con is about to enter full swing. If you’re lucky enough to be attending, then you’ll want to visit Telltale Games’ booth (#5337) on the 24th Sunday from 11:00am – 1:00pm as Steve Purcell will be in attendance.

Steve Purcell launches new Sam & Max blog

As promised, Steve Purcell has launched a brand new blog to focus entirely on our favourite dog and rabbit duo. Steve still has his regular blog where he’ll continue to post more general artwork.
The Sam & Max blog currently has two posts, one explaining the history behind a mysterious foreshadowing ancient carving and the other showing off a cute soft doll of Max created by artist Anna Chambers. Go check it out!

Not that you need it regurgitated, as you are of course subscribed to Steve Purcell’s blog, but just a heads up for those forgetful among you that Steve’s separate Sam & Max blog (as reported back in July) now has a release date of the 31st October.
To tide us over until then, he posted a sketch he did for the animated series which you can see here. Steve says he “would pitch in on characters and locations whenever possible. Usually quick pencil sketches with some ball point pen and a bit of tone”.

Today is the birthday of none other than Steve Purcell, creator of Sam & Max and all round artist extraordinaire. I’m not sure how old he is, but judging by recent photos I’d place him at around 25. Join us in wishing Steve a very happy birthday, and here’s to many more!

Steve Purcell to launch a Sam and Max-specific blog

You’ll probably be aware that Steve Purcell, creator of Sam and Max, runs his own blog which he updates with art – anything from oil paintings to pencilled drawings. In his latest update, Steve has said that he plans to launch a blog specific to Sam and Max.
Although he’s still working on the format, we’ll let you know as soon as it launches so you can check out the latest dog and rabitty-thing goodness. Should you forget it, remember that the link to Steve’s all round blog Spudvision can be accessed on the external links panel on the right-hand sidebar.

Okay, question is, ever since LucasArts and Telltale collaborated on that Tales of Monkey Island project, is there any chance the two companies could join forces again and resurrect both Sam and Max Hit The Road AND Sam and Max: Freelance Police? Because I *really* think that cancelled game needs to be uncancelled. The lineup of Sam and Max games shouldn’t be restricted to just the new series, you know! Just sayin’.

I have many questions. (At least this maximises my chances of being picked!)
1. Do you think it’s unfair how Max gets to be president, high priest of the sea chimps, have psychic powers, etc. and all Sam gets is a suit and a massive gun (double entendre not intended)
2. Do you think Season 3 will be as awesome as Season 2? Are you excited or proud of it?
3. Have you ever considered voicing a character in one of the games or did you consider it during the tv season?
4. I heard you work at Pixar, or at least you have worked there once at least. What did you do there?
5. What are you going to use the money from your auction of the Monkey Island print for?
6. Do you like Chinese food? I know a good place…
7. What sort of TV shows are you into?

I think the only question I would ask him is if they’re will possibly be new Sam and Max Media, like a television show and or a Movie in the works or in talks.

Well, the biggest question I hope he will answer is if he’s thinking of making a new Sam & Max-comic anytime soon. And in what format? An entire new book or on something like The Big Sleep on Telltale’s site? Maybe that comic about that gibbon replacing Max he mentioned in Surfing the Highway, or the original story of Plunge Through Space? Or perhaps comics where Sam & Max star in a parody of one of Telltale’s other licenses, like the comics where they visit other Lucasarts adventure game worlds he used to make back in the day?
Or I would like to know what it is he actually does at Pixar. Or what he thinks of a Toybox-series made by Telltale. But I guess I should try to respect the one question-rule
