Submit your fan art

Earlier this year in February I alerted you all to a Sam & Max fan art contest that was being held by a group of Telltale fans on their deviantART page, with lots of great prizes up for grabs.

After a brief hiatus, that contest is now in the voting stages – a tricky one since all of the entries are great. Head on over to their blog post to see how you can place your vote. Good luck to all!

The folks over at Nightlight Productions, self-proclaimed “theatre restaurant of the mind”, have created a new audio play based around the Sam & Max series, apparently with the blessing from big man Steve Purcell.

In part one, Sam and Max receive a case from new character Sally-Rae Seymour. Hijinks, of course, ensue. The release schedule for the rest of the series is currently unknown, but be sure to check it out and give them feedback.

A group of artists from the Telltale fan page on deviantART (an online art community) have joined together to host a Sam & Max fan art contest. The aim is to submit a piece of work based around one of eight music tracks from the Sam & Max games.

There’s even the chance for you to win prizes! Aha, yes, now I have your interest. Placing on the podium could nab you the cartoon series on DVD or perhaps the Symbiotes figures. The full rules and details on how to enter come the start date of March 1 can be found on this blog entry.

A group of talented artists from the Sam & Max community have grouped together in order to support the charity Child’s Play, an organisation set up by the founders of the Penny Arcade comic in order to deliver toys to children’s hospitals worldwide.

The artists, including users like Hayley the Hedgie and Rubygloommel who feature on this very site’s Fan Art page (hint hint!), have decided to create a calendar that’ll run from February 2011 to January 2012. They have set up a blog to show off their art as well as to publish news and answer questions about the project.

Providing lawyers don’t bust down their doors and shine lights into their eyes, the calendar should be coming together soon and available to buy (with all proceeds going to Child’s Play) or in a downloadable PDF file. Head over to their blog and see what’s what.
