Franchise discount in the Steam Summer Sale

Season three soundtrack! Season four announced! Animated series recommissioned!

Nah, just kidding. I’m afraid this news is just like the previous post. Steam are having a sale and at the moment all the Sam & Max games are on discount. Pick up the complete pack, or individual seasons, for 75% off their normal price.

I’ll have something exciting to report one day, promise.

All Sam & Max games discounted 66% on Steam

I can see you hiding at the back. Yes, you! You haven’t got any/all (delete as appropriate) of Telltale’s Sam & Max games, do you? For shame! Luckily for you, online distribution platform Steam have slashed all Sam & Max games by 66%.

You can either get the whole collection or each individual season. But hurry, this cheap-as-chips deal only lasts until Thursday at 4PM Pacific Time.

Sam & Max venture into Team Fortress 2

Order Sam & Max through Steam this week and you’ll get something special. Along with five episodic games, that is. Telltale Games have teamed up with the guys over at Valve to offer exclusive content for their Team Fortress 2 game.

You’ll receive Max’s Severed Head (see the heavy wearing it with joy to the left), Max’s pistol and Sam’s revolver (both weapon skins). See pictures of all three items here, courtesy of ‘TehWoodPcker’ from the Steam forums. I don’t want to alarm you, but this may be the coolest thing TF2 has ever seen. Just kidding, it is.

Update: those who purchased the game through Telltale’s site can get a redeemable code for their hats here.

The Unweekly Roundup

At time of writing, it’s fifteen days until The Penal Zone will be smashing into your PC, Mac and PlayStation. Excited? Voice your opinion in the poll to the right. But quit looking into the future, we’re here to look back and see what happened in the past.

» Telltale hosted an invite-only event at GDC to celebrate the announcement of their new Sam & Max season. But for those not so lucky, Gametrailers has come to the rescue and published a video showing off some… best bits?

» Don’t want a free DVD with your games on at the end of the season? Don’t want to choose what free Telltale episode you want? Don’t panic, because you can now pre-order The Devil’s Playhouse on Steam for £24.99 (with Night of the Raving Dead free).

» Chuck Jordan, designer and writer for the new season, appeared on Gamespot’s video show Today on the Spot to talk through some of the introduction of the game. There’s no new content if you’ve been keeping track of everything else, but it’s an interesting watch nonetheless.
